We recently represented a client in the magistrates court who had been charged with assaulting his partner. The client works and therefore was not eligible for legal aid. We obtained a special type of funding from the court called Section 36 funding which meant we were able to prepare the client’s defence and represent him free of charge at the court trial. This sort of funding only allows the solicitor to represent for part of the trial. We represent clients for all the trial in such cases as a matter of goodwill. Client was acquitted and happy at outcome.

If you think you may be eligible for section 36 funding on your trial case, please contact us so that we can assist your defence and confirm whether your case will attract free representation under this scheme.
